EN VS Visit of the National Focal Point to the Paimogo Fort in Lourinhã within the EEA Grants Culture Programme
The Coastal Memory Fort Project that is taking place in Paimogo Fort in Lourinhã was visited by the National Focal Point within EEA Grants Culture Programme in the second semester of 2022.
On 20 SEPTEMBER 2022, the Paimogo Fort was visited by the National Focal Point (Ponto Focal Nacional – PFN) of the EEA Grants programme accompanied by the Programme Operator with the goal of working together with the promoter – Municipality of Lourinhã, on the Coastal Memory Fort – Keeping Memories Alive project, that was financed through the Call for Tenders 1 – “Local Development through the Safeguard and Revitalisation of the Coastal Cultural Heritage”, due to the project risking a delay in proper physical execution. The main goal of the visit was to check, in person, the status of the construction works related to the project of the Paimogo Fort and the status of the project itself.
Members of the consortium were present on the visit, namely the parties involved in the construction process of the Paimogo Fort in the Municipality of Lourinhã and the LNEC partner that showed the assets that were placed in the wall around Paimogo Fort – big panels made of six selected mortars:
- Hydrated lime mortar with silica sand and 5% ground limestone
- Hydrated lime mortar and quicklime with silica sand and 5% ground limestone
- Quicklime mortar and white cement with silica sand and 5% ground limestone
- Identical formulations with 10% ground limestone
These mortars will continue to be the target of evaluation tests on the performance of the panels on site, until 180 days have passed.
